Hopping back into a classic beast of an RPG

Might & Magic 7

The Might & Magic series of games are considered by many to be absolute pure gold when it comes to role-playing on an electronics device, and I’d have to agree with them. Offering an immersive — yet pixelated — fantasy world to lose oneself in for hours each day, as well as strategic turn-based combat and interesting plotlines, it’s easy to see why folk rave about these RPGs. I’ve decided to hop back into one, Might & Magic 7; my personal favorite.

It’s magic, quite literally. Now, I’ll admit that I arrived at this series rather late, but I put most of the blame on the year I entered into this world. Kicking things off with Might & Magic 7, I was presented a wondrous world of intrigue. Fast forward more than a decade and while I’ve forgotten pretty much most of the game, as soon as “new game” is selected, everything starts returning to the forefront of my mind.

The controls are a little fiddly and are something I’m having to get my head around once again. But other than that, it’s an absolute blast and for just over £2 on GOG, it’s difficult to overlook this classic.
